Exhausted in the 2nd Trimester?

This is my second pregnancy and I'm 18 weeks but I'm absolutely EXHAUSTED. Literally tired all day and regularly having to break off from the day to day to nap just so I can get through.

I don't have any of this 2nd trimester glow or energy and just wondered if anyone else if going through this? Or any tips to boost energy given caffeine is obviously off the table?

Thanks!!

You can have some caffeine. Some days I have 3 coffees

No idea, sending solidarity though as I'm 19 weeks and feeling exhausted too. This is my second pregnancy too, and I've never had the pregnancy glow everyone else seems to have, I just spend 9 months sick as a dog and half asleep. Mt toddler is in nursery today and I'm on annual leave from work so I'm just lying on the sofa taking the chance to rest while I can

Glad to hear it's not just me! I've had a toddler at home today and hate to say it but the TV has definitely allowed me some horizontal time - I just didn't have a choice, I was falling asleep standing up 😵‍💫

@MadsBump we had a day like that yesterday, didn't leave the house and my 2 year old had way too much screen time and I felt so guilty for it but I feel like I'm wading through treacle. I was hoping my midwife would check my iron levels again when I saw her at 16 weeks, but she just said it was normal and sent me on my way 😭

It's so hard being pregnant with a toddler to look after!

Have you had your iron levels checked recently? You could be anaemic

Solidarity from me too! 16 weeks and struggling to get through the day without a nap. I only have my 3yo at home one day (plus weekends) and I feel like I don't have the energy to do much, feeling rubbish about it. Keep waiting for this phase of nausea and exhaustion to pass 😬

Yep had them checked at 12 weeks and all looked good (was almost hoping that might be the cause as then I could fix it). I'm taking my antenatal vitamins which have added iron though just in case!

Oh god, solidarity from me as well @MadsBump. I'm 25 weeks now and my second trimester has been worse than my first, I think. I'm still totally knackered, alongside being randomly very grumpy and achy. I've had weird insomnia I didn't have last time that's made the tiredness worse.🙄My iron levels are fine as far as the MW is concerned, and I'm taking pregnancy vits.

Also got a toddler in tow - very active and demanding 2 year old. It's a bloody marathon!
