Struggling in the last few weeks

I'm nearly 38 weeks pregnant and I've found that I'm struggling, it's a mixture of the uncertainty of when baby will arrive etc and the fact that now I'm physically just aching all the time, not sleeping well etc which I know is just part of pregnancy at this point.

How did you cope through the last few weeks of pregnancy? I've been going on walks etc to try and keep myself distracted but it honestly feels like these last couple of weeks are dragging now and it's all I can focus on. I don't know if it's because this will be my first baby so I'm abit more apprehensive about my due date approaching or what I'm not sure. I'm just abit fed up really, apologies if I come across like a complete moaner!

I'm 38 weeks today and totally get you! I'm getting really bored with being off work, but also lack energy/motivation to do much, which is really annoying! I've been having long baths, cleaning, having family over, dozing, reading, watching TV etc.

It's so hard not knowing whether baby is coming in 4 hours or 4 weeks! But oxytocin helps, so need to try and be as chilled and relaxed as possible, easier said than done, of course! X

Hi there it's a labour ward midwife. It'a really good you are walking lots and looking after yourself. I would say Google up positive birth stories. Or better still order the Positive Birth Book off Amazon. The last few weeks will fly, very soon you will be holding your baby in your arms!
