Spotting

I got a positive pregnancy test three days ago and the line was only very faint.

Today i am now bleeding, it was red in colour and has now gone light and isn’t on every wipe, neither is it showing up on a pad.

I also have no pain.

Should I be worried? I’m not getting seen until tomorrow but I won’t settle until then.

Hi @DRL110433 , I’m sorry you’re having spotting. I had some during my pregnancy and it’s always unnerving.

Was it brighter red and now fading to a lighter colour? Any clots?

On the day my period was due, I had some bright red bleeding (assumed it was my period). It then turned brownish in colour and then gradually lightened and turned to normal discharge over the next few days. My baby is almost one now.

Sending hugs ❤️

It’s dark red again when i haven’t wiped for a while but isn’t showing up on my pad, just when i wipe after the toilet.

Im in no pain and there is also no clots, im hoping it’s nothing but with being so early its so nerve wracking and i just can’t settle.

Thank you for your response.

Hopefully everything’s okay and i’m glad you’ve got a healthy 1 year old 💙

Fingers crossed it’s just implantation bleeding @DRL110433 ❤️

It’s started to get a bit heavier and more like a period flow so i don’t hold much hope for this one 💔

My fingers are crossed for you❤️I’m assuming the EPU will do a transvaginal ultrasound. At least you will hopefully know one way or the other.

I had a miscarriage three years ago, and I had to go back in a few times so they could do blood tests and monitor the HCG levels. They might ask you to do this too.

I entirely understand what you’re going through. Not knowing is torture, so be kind to yourself. I sat on the sofa and binge watched some comfort shows (‘Ghosts’ in my case!). There’s nothing at all you can do now❤️Is your partner with you?

I find myself googling everything and seeing what looks normal, i’m holding on to a bit of hope that i’m still not clotting and not soaking through pads :(

Yeah i’ve been binge watching telling today which i never get chance to do and my partners been absolutely amazing about it all, couldn’t have better support ❤️

Im only really early but once you get a positive test it’s hard to let go of the hope isn’t it.

Thanks for the support x

Don’t give up hoping for the best @DRL110433, but prepare yourself that things may not go the way you want.

Glad you have a supportive partner. Whatever happens, you will get through it together.

I hope your appointment goes well ❤️

When I had a miscarriage the blood was more concentrated but bright red like that. Whenever I had implantation bleeding there was less and it was dark brown. I guess it could depend on the person though.

Thank you so much.

I took a pregnancy test this morning and the positive line was much darker even tho i’ve been bleeding all day and night yesterday.

Is this typical for darker lines after miscarrying?

Your hormones might still be high.

Good luck at the EPU. I had a miscarriage in August, I wasn't sure what to expect so I thought it would give my experience. I had heavy bleeding rather than spotting. I had been in a and E the night before where they took my HCG levels as well as haemoglobin due to heavy bleeding. The EPU took them again and arranged to retest a third time after 48h in pregnancy your HCG levels usually double in 48h and if a pregnancy has ended they half. Mine halved in 16h between being seen in a and E and the epu.
The epu did an internal ultrasound, this is with an empty bladder and was an odd experience but wasn't painful at all. In mine there was no signs of pregnancy. I should have been 10 weeks and for them this was enough to conclude I had miscarried. Had I not been as far along it would have been classed as a pregnancy of unknown location and they would have rescanned me around a week later as I hadn't had any previous ultrasounds.

I really hope it's good news today but I would probably anticipate that you might be in limbo for a little while whilst they work out what is going on especially with you being quite early in your pregnancy.

I read that only 1 in 3 pregnancies with bleeding end in miscarriage so stats are on your side. Blood only when you wipe whilst anxiety provoking is positive. Good luck!

Rosequartzz · 17/09/2024 09:04

I had this too for about 4 days, changing in colour, only there when wiped and no clots no pains.
I went to EPU and it was found to be a subchoronic hematoma.

I honestly don’t know @DRL110433. But it’s certainly not a bad thing! Perhaps as another poster has suggested, it could be subchoronic hematoma? Hopefully the EPU can give you some clarification ❤️

I have been to my appt and there we no visible signs of pregnancy and my uterine wall wasn’t thick which i would suspect th bleeding would have been my thick uterine wall.

They’ve done my bloods and they said they’ll retest in 48h to make sure the hormone levels are going down.

I feel like i knew this was coming but still doesn’t feel any easier, they think i may have had a chemical pregnancy.

Thanks for all your support guys, this forum has helped ❤️
