Cravings and gender of baby

I am DETERMINED not to find out the sex of this, my third baby. dh wanted to know with both of our first two and as this is our last I want to know what it feels like to have a surprise and also to try and guess which I'm having.

Anyone get particular cravings with a particular sex of child? I am craving fresh pineapple and cream cheese (not together) and unlike my first two pregnancies have completely gone off coffee - I used to allow myself one big latte a day with the other two and I can't stomach it with this one.

Ds - caesar salad, crisps (which I don't normally eat) and towards the end Crunchies.

Dd - eggs, custard, milkshakes, oh and Crunchies!

Both - baked potatoes with beans and cheese, kids must be made of them I ate so much.

This time - feel too sick to fancy anything, although savoury is winning when I do eat, esp ketchup sandwiches. [nausea face]

Tessiebear · 09/01/2005 11:25

DS's 1 &2 craved EXACTLY the same things - Kentucky fried chicken, salt and vinegar crisps - all savoury things - went off chocolate
This time round - dont know the sex but crave anything fresh and fruity - lime - oranges etc - have a strange phobia this time around about raw onions!!!

blueteddy · 09/01/2005 11:29

Hi Tess!
Lime!!!!! Is that in drinks?!

Whizzz · 09/01/2005 11:37

Callipo ice lollies - I had a boy !

blueteddy · 09/01/2005 12:05

fisil · 09/01/2005 12:42

ds1: chocolate icecream
currently (told its a boy): sickly caramel slices, any chocolate and lettuce (!)

DS1 - citrus fruits, garlic and chalk (I kid you not).I used to buy non-toxic from the Early Learning Centre, chew it and spit it out - DH caught me at it once and thought I'd finally lost it! Also went mad for the smell of washing powder (had to be Daz) and tile grouting.

DS2 - broccoli, green veg and garlic again, very virtuos eh?!

Now pregnant with twins, don't know sexes - Chocolate ice cream, chocolate and more chocolate. And I'm not usually a 'sweetie' person at all.

oooggs · 09/01/2005 20:20

Cravings for salt & vinegar crisps, smelling fresh dry washing and couldn't eat meat - very sick and had a boy.

Also Christmas pudding with Brandy sauce - in August

janeybops · 09/01/2005 20:41

rice pudding - girl

ice - boy

hippi · 10/01/2005 13:27

I craved milk throughout my pregancy. Dairy is normally associated with Boys and acid with girls.

I had a girl - just proves no-one knows!

bumpsy · 10/01/2005 20:39

DD1 craved milkshakes and chick pea dahl and lots of sweet things,DS1 craved tomato juice, soup, oranges and carrots oh and cheese and pickle sandwiches.
This time I have had the milshake and curry thing again so I do suspect another girl but could be proved wrong!

maras · 11/01/2005 09:24

chocolate = ds
grapefruit = dd1
campari and soda (...lots of soda/not too much alcohol ! but a regualar desparate fix every evening) = dd2

suzywong · 11/01/2005 09:25

Industrial size packets of love hearts, giant fizzers and parma violets and horlicks to drink with both boys

leggymamba · 11/01/2005 13:29

dd = basil on everything, had a plant on my desk at work and just eat the leaves straight off it.

This time olives and smoked salmon (not sure what it is but likely to be very posh!)

Tinker · 11/01/2005 19:58

maras - where you at the London meet-up May 2003? (Or was it 2002???) If so, not seen you around for ages

moschops · 17/01/2005 14:20

i have had 'salad' two days running.........except all i really wanted to eat were the pickled beetroot and onions. and i have totally gone off the taste of milk so am having to have chocolate flavouring in it........

i have this overwhelming feeling that i am having a boy.
