Sickness getting WORSE at 12 weeks?

Hi ladies. So I've held out hope that the nausea I've had since 6 weeks pregnant would be subsiding soon... I've not physically been sick at all but had horrific nausea the whole time. I'm 12 weeks now and last night I threw up so violently out of nowhere and had a really gurgly/unsettled tummy, woke up a few times last night thinking I was gonna have to run to the toilet but didn't. I was really hoping it would be easing up soon, not getting worse??? Anyone had this before?

I'm also 12 weeks and mine has been pretty bad the last 10 days or so.
I had to sprint into the house the other day and projectile vomited all over the bathroom floor as I didn't quite make it to the toilet in time!
It's been horrific.
I'm really hoping it starts to ease up soon!

@sel2223 I'm so glad it's not just me 🤢 I was thinking I had given myself food poisoning from a lasagne I made and 'attempted' to have some of yesterday but my partner is fine after it. Just came out of no where yesterday! I've always had the sickness feeling but actually vomitting caught me so off guard! Fingers crossed it lifts for us soon 🤞

I feel for you OP. I had hideous nausea and vomitting for around 7 months but I was having twins so hormone levels bonkers. It's miserable. Poor you. Have you had your scan? Could it be more than one in there?

khaa2091 · 14/09/2024 08:28

Do a covid test.

sel2223 · 14/09/2024 08:32

People often say that it's better to be physically sick rather than just having nausea on it's own but I'm not so sure.
Both are hideous

Thank you my love! We've had multiple scans due to loss in the past and there's definitely just one little bean in there haha! Happy and healthy to t and wriggly but causing mama lots of 🤢🤢🤢 for sure! I have a feeling I'm gonna be one of the women who doesn't shift the sickness and it's gonna be around for a while! Will so be worth it though I know that 🥰

Interestingly I felt tons better after I was sick last night for about half an hour, but then the feeling came back. Definitely didn't last long!

There is medication you can take which helps nausea as well as vomiting, it might be worth asking your GP. I have had constant nausea and periods of vomiting now for 31 weeks so sadly it doesn't necessarily go away (although does for most people!). Mine was worst 16-20 weeks and now again at 37 weeks.

CortieTat · 14/09/2024 13:05

I used to be sick for 8 months straight in my previous pregnancies so it can just last forever for some people

Superscientist · 14/09/2024 13:30

I had nausea and vomiting 6-13/14 weeks, 16weeks and then 26-36 weeks! Baby arrived at 38 weeks
I was on cyclizine in the first and third trimesters.

Evergreen90 · 14/09/2024 13:32

Mine lasted my whole two pregnancies - sorry!

twohotwaterbottles · 14/09/2024 22:18

Just seen your reply OP. You've had a rough ride already my lovely. Wish you all the luck in the world throughout your pregnancy. This little one will be very special. I hope the dreaded voms do one very soon 🥰

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 15/09/2024 04:25

It could just be a stomach bug with it being so random. If it continues past 48 hours then I'd say it's pregnancy related, if it stops before then a stomach bug

Hope you feel better soon!
