So I know the placenta takes over can help feel better but up until last night I have been feeling constantly sick. Woke up this morning and had my usual morning sick but now I am at lunch time I suddenly feel like i could eat everything. Is that normal to just suddenly feel ok after being sick for what feels like a lifetime or should I be worried? I have a US on Monday but just wondering if anyone has had the same to soften the anxiety until then?

Apologies for the worry, I have had two early miscarriages and it still doesn’t feel real and I keep convincing myself something has to go wrong!

I'm 12 weeks tomorrow and have had days like this a few times where I am absolutely fine all day and can eat anything, don't even feel pregnant etc.
It normally returns with a bang a day or 2 later.

I am praying it's coming to an end soon though!!! With a bit of luck that might be you done with the sickness!

My morning sickness stopped completely and totally one day at 11ish weeks for one; and over a couple of days for the other. Completely disappeared.

They're 25 and 23 now!

@Fordian Thank you! This is great to know. I am sure I am just overthinking (seem to do that alot in pregnany)

I have been moaning about how sick I have been for weeks so really should take this and run with it!!

@sel2223 Thanks for sharing, we are so close in due date time!

How have you found the first trimester? The sickness and constant gagging has been A LOT to deal with. I really wouldn’t mind feeling a bit more normal but I just worry all the time!!

Totally normal, I felt better within a day, between 12-13 weeks.

WickWood · 12/09/2024 19:41

This is totally normal.

Like you though, I panicked. I'd been off work that week with sickness, then one day I felt fine, in an instant. My OH rushed home from work and we went for a private scan... Baby absolutely fine (and still is now at 37+3) So I totally get the worry! But just enjoy feeling a bit better x

It’s normal. When it stops it can stop on a random day. Don’t be surprised if in a weeks time you have one off again, when you randomly feel sick, and then it can stop again, but entirely and not come back.

I kept notes of symptoms during the first trimester and funnily enough my last day of nausea was also 12+2. I did have a few days in the week before where it disappeared for a day. it's normal.

Congratulations and all the best with your scan.

bananabread2000 · 13/09/2024 05:40

Yes it can be totally normal. With my first I spent 12 weeks feeling awful and praying for relief, then it went away so suddenly I wished I felt ill again just for the reassurance! (with my second I had hyperemis and was so sick through most of the pregnancy that any break would have been a blessing lol).

I had the exact same thing. Just turned 12 weeks. Really rough 1st trimester. Constant nausea, barely able to eat, sick at least twice a day. Exhausted. It was like it switched off over night. Like you I had a scan a few days later and everything was fine, was a worrying few days though. Hope all is OK for you.
