Bishop score of 4 and 2nd sweep. Any hope??

Hey! So this is my first pregnancy and I’ve just had my second sweep today. First was at 39+3 and today was 40+2. I’ve not dilated further (1-1.5cm), cervix still kinda high although she managed to move it forward, and she said medium softness. My bishop score is only 4 though which is basically rubbish and indicates no labour any time soon.

feeling super demotivated. My midwife defo gave me the impression she doesn’t see me going into spontaneous labour any time soon. I have an induction booked for 41 weeks but not sure I’ll take it.

just wondering if anyone has any tips / words of encouragement? Anyone find themselves in a similar position then go into labour quite quickly after? I’m not even getting any cramping or anything…

what I really want to avoid is holding off to 42 weeks absolutely miserable, then end up being induced anyway! I wish I had a way of seeing into the future!!

i know this probably isn’t what you want to hear but please be patient as you’ve come so far and you’re nearly at the end! I hope you take this with the good intention is is meant as I wish someone had said this to me. With my first I had 2 sweeps that were considered ‘successful’ and I was 4cm dilated. However nothing happened apart from a lot of bleeding and soreness for me. Long story short the sweep broke my hind waters, I was induced and had a horrific labour as I truly believe baby wasn’t ready. I know the last part of pregnancy is miserable but please think about interfering too much as I really do feel it contributed to me having such a bad labour which I don’t think it would be helpful to go into detail here. I also a know a few other women who had sweeps and feel the same. Sending love x
