Breast clinic referral- 13 weeks pregnant

I recently found a lump in my armpit, after having it checked out at the doctors today 4 different 1cm lumps were discovered and I have been referred to the breast clinic. As you can imagine I am extremely worried what this could be right now. Making it to 13 weeks pregnant after two miscarriages has been everything I have wanted and now I feel like I don’t know what to do with myself. Anyone any experience of this? How likely is this to be cancer at the age of 25?

I'm sorry - dealing with the uncertainty is very hard! It could be something or nothing but realistically no one can tell you anything until you've had the tests done.

Just to reassure you - even if it does turn out to be cancer there's a lot of treatments they can do without harming the pregnancy, even chemo you can have when pregnant. I was diagnosed with cancer at 10 weeks pregnant and had surgery at 16 weeks, all went fine and no harm to baby whatsoever.

It's very likely to be the nodes in your breast responding to pregnancy and preparing to feed your baby.
But, with these things it's always best to get it checked over by a specialist. GPs generally refer any breast changes over to the breast clinic as a precaution. Try not to fret, it's out of your sphere of control, and you can only wait.
Wishing you all the best!

I had this exact experience too!

I went to Dr's with a lump in my breast, got referred and I was 14+3 when I had the appt at the breast clinic. They scanned it and i got told it wasnt just 1 but was actually a cluster of cysts - the consultant told me many of their patients are actually pregnant women, as its so common for lumps and bumps to appear in the breasts with all of the hormonal changes in the body.

I too was petrified and there were so many thoughts going through my head beforehand.

Stay positive, its very likely to be nothing and just related to your pregnancy

I had the same thing in pregnancy. Turned out it was a fatty lump of breast tissue that had grown because of the pregnancy.
