Basildon Hospital experience

Calling any Essex ladies! I'm 18 weeks pregnant and under Basildon Hospital. I've been a little put off lately by their CQC rating and also bad stories about it.

Does anyone have experience? I will be Consultant led.

Wondering whether it's worth transferring. Dartford has good CQC Ratings.

Thanks xx

Thanks for posting this. My wife is 6 weeks pregnant and we’ve been asked to go with with either Queens hospital in Romford or Basildon hospital. Any advice over which one to pick is appreciated.

keeping an eye on this - my first baby was born in queens and I ended up having an ECS and also got sepsis. Whilst the above was a lot, I can hand on my heart say I couldn’t fault the staff there. The labour ward were a bit slow when it was clear I was in active labour - the staff in HDU and maternity ward were great.

I’m expecting baby 2 and have the option of going to Basildon but the recent stories are making me nervous. Equally, Queens haven’t had good stories about them either recently. Seems like everywhere’s a shit show 🫠

I gave birth to my first 2 at Queen's. Sorry OP I know you're asking about Basildon but just in case for the other posters. I'm expecting #3 and will be back at Queen's. Main issue is that they don't always have enough beds. Last time I was in triage and baby was ready to come out but there was no room available! Luckily got a room just in time but was very close.
