Incredibly itchy scalp - 16 weeks

Hi

my scalp has been itchy for around 8 weeks now, but it’s getting unbearable. Has anyone had similar, do I need to contact my GP or midwife if it continues?

I know there is something you can get in pregnancy which causes itchy skin and is to do with the liver (sorry can't remember the name). Don't know if that would just affect scalp though.

Have you tried using different hair products, shampoos etc. Pregnancy can make you extra sensitive even to brands you've used for years. It's why pregnant women have to be careful dying their hair and having facials etc, you can get quite a nasty reaction

@sel2223 thank you for your reply. Yes I’ve tried different products and don’t get my hair dyed so not sure what else I can do.

Cholestatis. That's liver issues during pregnancy but is usually all over your body. Call issues sounds like either Seborrheic Dermatitis or Psoriasis but more likely the former. This is not associated with pregnancy, I've had it all my life. Def recommend a trip to docs
