Should I tell my managers I'm pregnant

I'm currently 5 weeks pregnant,
I work in a B&Q and I do a lot of manual handling, I'm just wondering if everyone thinks that's too early? Should I be worrying?

Yes. I had to tell my manager as soon as I knew for similar reasons . They will keep it confidential.

Congratulations by the way!

I didn’t say anything until I was 10 weeks so after seeing the midwife for the first time. I worked in a pub though but I think my colleagues guessed early on anyway and definitely made subtle adjustments without letting on. I was doing fairly heavy lifting before and just made decisions based on what I felt comfortable still doing (which was pretty much exactly the same as what I had been doing anyway! Make sure your employer carries out a risk assessment though, I can’t remember the exact points that they are carried out but they need to be doing them.

Congratulations! How long have you worked for them? I work in retail same company for 5 years. I told them at 7 weeks. Done a risk assessment right away. Wasn’t allowed to lift boxes use ladder etc. it’s up to you really!!
also if you need any sick days off soon they will be covered as you’ve told them your pregnant x
