On sick from work due to sickness?

Is anyone on sick from work due to sickness or has been?
I am 7 weeks pregnant and I haven’t actually been sick but I feel sick all day everyday and I’m struggling. I seem to also have diarrhoea every morning (sorry for the info) which is also not helping.
I am debating whether to go on sick from work just for a couple of weeks in the hope that in a couple of weeks it will settle down and I will find work a little easier. I’m finding that even the thought of work is raising my anxiety because I’m panicking that I will feel so crap when I’m there or what if I need the toilet (my work is in a shop and sometimes I am stuck on the till with one other member of staff in the shop and I am unable to leave the till until another member of staff is available)
I know that I’m spiralling here and overthinking! I just wish the sickness would go away

I’m not pregnant but have been and remember being told that for some women, diarrhoea is their equivalent of morning sickness (and some get both). If you aren’t well enough to work, then tell your employer you are pregnant (for protection from a disciplinary) and stay off.

I hope you feel better soon.

I had hyperemesis with all day nausea and frequent vomiting. I had 4 weeks where I had time off sick only managing to work 1-2 days a week. I probably should have gone off sick properly. I had 1 week where I couldn't even sit up and I had 4 days off work and was on the verge of getting a sick note but luckily/unluckily the nausea improved on the Friday. I later miscarried and I suspect this was possible when the pregnancy stopped as the nausea improved although I was still quite sick and on antiemetics until after I miscarried. I was on cyclizine and later prochlorpreazine. These took the edge off the sickness and on the better days allowed me to do a bit of work. I have mental health issues and being off work completely is not good for my mental health so being able to work the odd afternoon or day during the week if I am able to can improve my mental health. Thankfully I can work from home and have an understanding work.

I had diarrhoea at the start of the pregnancy with my daughter and suspect that it was related to me switching from caffeinated to decaffeinated teas and coffees. It stopped once my sickness stopped me drinking tea and coffee and I read that decaf products can trigger loose stools. I also go from mild constipation as my normal to normal stools when pregnant too so pregnancy itself can have an impact on stools
