Early pregnancy test

my period isn’t due till Tuesday / Wednesday (app says Wednesday but I think it’s Tuesday) I did a clear blue early detection test this morning (it wasn’t my first wee) and it was negative.
but I have the worst cramps.

do you think I should test again in a day or two? Or are the tests pretty accurate?

thank you!

Personally I never test until I've missed a period by a couple of days as early testing can be so hit and miss and is so stressful - different tests have different sensitivity and this board is absolutely full of 'is it or isn't it' threads about fine lines and shadows.
I've never had cramps before missing a period or any other symptoms, in both my pregnancies I didn't feel any different at all in the very early stage.

Good luck

yeah I get that. I probably shouldn’t even ask haha but my first pregnancy we are lucky it happened first time but not so much this time round. I had cramps with my first so that’s why I think it’s a sign. Obviously every pregnancy is different though and isnt always the case.

but everyone says not to test till missed period but I guess its hard when the tests say they can detect before😂

thank you for your comment though! Xx

I'd get a 3-pack of "6 days early" tests with 10mIU sensitivity and test again first thing in the morning, and the day after, and then again. If whatever faint line is still there the next day, and the day after (and likely getting darker) - it's there to stay.
I've tested positive 8DPO, but didn't even realise it until 10DPO - it was so-so faint and only visible for a minute (easy at home strips) and i've just dismissed it as evap or whatever. Clear blue early test and digital one have picked it up 10DPO very well though!
In total I have went through two 20-packs of easy at homes while TTC, always testing like a maniac from 8DPO.

Cramps could well be a sign if you had them last time too.... fingers crossed for you!

It's taken us 4 years to fall pregnant a second time after conceiving very quickly first time round so i know exactly where you are coming from. I never realised how common it is to have struggles trying for a second, it's crazy.

The early testing thing, honestly I've been there, it's so so hard to wait! I realised eventually though that all I was doing was wasting money and causing my self more stress and that's the last thing you need when trying to conceive! Every evap line or slight shadow, seeing things which weren't even there, obsessively symptom spotting.....I have an addictive personality and it was really having a negative impact on my mental health.
I realised eventually that testing early made no difference whatsoever to if I was pregnant or not. Waiting took away all that 'is it or isn't it' uncertainty and also meant there was less chance I'd pick up a chemical which would have really upset me - I'd rather not know!

I waited till several days after I'd skipped a period, got a really strong dye stealer line and then never took another test again - no line progression stress or extra anxiety! I highly recommend it.

Best of luck in your TTC journey, I hope this is the month for you.
