I had an induction with my first 7 years ago and lost a lot of blood/had lots of clots, but not quite enough to need a blood transfusion. That's all I knew at the time, and didn't really think much of it tbh.
I'm now nearly 5 months pregnant with my second and have been told I have a meeting with the consultant at the end of the month to discuss a birth plan due to my large amount of blood loss in previous labour. I honestly had no idea it was serious enough for this to now be in place.
I've read that inductions can cause blood clots. I'm wondering if this could be the sole reason I lost so much blood, and would be avoided anyway if I'm not induced again.
So I have two questions:
Is it common among those who have had inductions to have had large blood clots?
Has anybody met with a consultant for this reason and what's the usual outcome?
Edit: incase it has any relevance, once labour started it was over within 2 hours and I didn't have an epidural, so it was fast and intense. Also curious if the speed of it all combined with the drip could have caused the blood clots.
