Hi, so I’m going through my doctors notes. I got a positive pregnancy test and was so excited this was 2 years ago (still positive now) I wasn’t feeling good, had bleeding and went to the doctors and the doctors text come back negative. I’ve been randomly looking through my notes and I came across this.. does this mean 2 years ago it was an early miscarriage?😔😔 I know it’s 2 years ago but when struggling with fertility it’s hard.

Are you saying that you have been getting positive pregnancy tests for 2yrs?

Sorry I didn’t explain very well, my positive test from 2 years ago is still positive now (I kept it) I was going through doctors notes looking for something else and came across this. I believe it’s early pregnancy loss but just wanted some confirmation if that makes sense

Thanks, I thought it did but just wanted the confirmation. I came across it randomly. So I got positive tests my first one was clear as day and came up instantly(I’ve still got it and it’s still positive) and then after I wasn’t feeling the best and the tests were getting lighter and I started bleeding, went to the doctors and that’s what I got. I didn’t get any confirmation from them until I found it when going through notes looking for something else. X

I see! Well, it’s impossible to know really the notes you have shared don’t say you’ve had a miscarriage, it’s a note on the accuracy of pregnancy tests in general. It would say the same whether you were pregnant or not. It’s like the notes you find in the instructions on the instructions of the test itself of that makes sense?

It could be that the test you took was faulty, which would be in line with it showing positive after all these years, they are only valid for a few minutes after you do them. I have had quite a few of these tests sadly!!

The notes you have there say:
Pregnancy tests have an accuracy of a certain level of hormones. If there is a low result this could be down to an early loss and not necessarily mean it’s a viable pregnancy. It’s a general guidance note, it doesn’t say what your result was, it would be the same whether you were pregnant or not.

Did they do any blood tests?
