Hi everyone - the title says it all and i need reassuring stories please.

i had zero pregnancy symptoms for first two months and one week of bleeding when my period should have been so did not suspect a natural pregnancy at all.

I thought I was 5 weeks when I had an ultrasound and found out it was in fact 13.

I have been in a total panic, crying fits and insomnia due to anxiety about the possible harm I caused my baby.
Apart from drinking alcohol (occasionally - a glass of wine or beer maybe once or twice a week), eating raw seafood (even having mild food poisoning due to seafood), blue cheese, salami etc, I was on quite a lot of medication (a lot of it, ironically for fertility as we had been trying for years and had lots of cancelled IVF cycles due to thin endometrial lining)
My gynecologist reassured me and said not to worry, it wasn’t that serious but I think he said that just because it is too late to do so anything anyway.
I really need to hear some stories of people who have been in the same situation and whose baby had no side effects or even any doctors.

These are the meds I took (I live in France so names may not be the same) in order of the ones I am most worried about:
DHEA 25mg for 10 days (for fertility)
Sildenafil (viagara!) 50mg for endometrium
minoxidil
Econazole + monazol for thrush
Secnol for BV

Thank you xx

I think the medicines for thrush and BV are not so bad - apparently women do take them during pregnancy and I read that the BV infection is worse for the baby so needs to be treated - but I’m really worried about the top three.
Luckily I was taking a pregnancy vitamin or multivitamin plus extra folic acid the whole time but that is my only silver lining.

If your doctor has said it's ok then I'd accept that opinion

Hi OP,

Congratulations on your pregnancy.

Stress and anxiety can be very harmful in pregnancy and, since you can't go back in time to change anything, it is really pointless worrying so much over this. Your doctor didn't sound worried which is a great sign.

Don't forget there are women who have no idea they are pregnant until they are literally giving birth! Potentially 9 whole months of drinking, maybe smoking, eating whatever, medication etc. At least you found out now!

Don't panic OP, you said in your post "My gynecologist reassured me and said not to worry" - focus on that. As a doctor he/she would have told you the facts so if there was a risk or increased concern they would have told you about it. And if you were on medication to help with your fertility then it's unlikely they would put you on medication that would then harm a foetus if in fact you did conceive...I think that would have had to have been explicitly explained to you.

Go back to your doctor for a reassurance visit if you neee it. And don't stress about stressing either...you're not going to harm your baby. Big hugs and congratulations!

I didn't know I was pregnant with my oldest until at least 6 or 7 weeks in. I was on muscle relaxants at the time and I drank a lot in the last two weeks as I was on holiday. I also had to take a lot of very strong painkillers (opioids) later on in the pregnancy, and had a multitude of x-rays and a nuclear scan and major abdominal surgery (had a lot of issues in the 3rd trimester with her making my kidney swell up and I had appendicitis that was undiagnosed for ages). Basically all the things they say you shouldn't do/have when pregnant.
She's 13 now and perfectly healthy.

Stop worrying and concentrate on the Now not what was.
You worrying will only increase your stress levels which isn't good for you or your baby.
You must have seen programmes of I didn't know I was pregnant? But they had healthy babies. Relax enjoy the pregnancy ❤️
