Currently 12 weeks pregnant with my third. Last 24 hrs had quite centralised discomfort across my stomach.. not awful but noticeable. It comes with waves of nausea and also am feeling discomfort in my side towards my back at times, but that's only occasional. I also just feel so drained, like walking and standing up feel like a chore. Never experienced anything similar with my other two so whether it's best to get it checked or it could just be things stretching out.

Is it more upper stomach?

Caaarrrl · 07/09/2024 11:10

I think if you are worried, then that's enough reason to get it checked out.

I am the type of person that feels I'm wasting time as it isn't that bad.. but started last night. Took paracetamol and thought I'd sleep it off. But it hasn't subsided.

@Cottoncandy31 Ah! I had so much pain above my belly button area that travelled to my back around 12/13 weeks. Was soo sore. I did go in and get it checked out - was just offered pain killer & laxitives. It lasted about 5 days and haven’t had it since. I called my early pregnancy unit to ask what they think and they did say to come in to see a doctor x

I'd go and get it checked out. If the worse happened, you'd regret not getting it checked and potentially having treatment that could help. Better to be safe than sorry, IMO x

Would it be bowel movement/constipation related? I had quite bad cramps around this time and usually went away once I had been able to do a 💩 (TMI sorry). But as PP has said - better to get checked out if possible!

Oh its totally a valid point! I thought that too, as constipation has been a symptom of early pregnancy for me but have managed to use the toilet several times since last night.

@Cottoncandy31 I would definitely get checked then for peace of mind xx

This could have nothing to do with the pregnancy at all, OP.

Central abdominal pain around the belly button is generally where appendicitis starts.

Cottoncandy31 · 07/09/2024 12:28

I feel in two minds.. I have my twelve weeks scan Tuesday, I had an early scan a few weeks back, confirmed all was okay. I'm certain my iron levels are low and maybe that is contributing to the dreadful tired feeling. It's not awful, buts it's a noticeable uncomfortable feeling. My EPU doesn't accept self referrals so would have to through the whole 111 system. It's whether this is normal pains or waiting it out to Tuesday, but totally see that it's the whole safe rather than sorry. Type of person that hates making a fuss and feels like going up or going through the system to be seen is making such a big fuss.
