Hi everyone,
Looking for reassurance as finding it hard not to fall into a panic.
I'm only 5+3. Baby number 2. I feel DREADFUL - crippling headaches, so so tired and awful nausea most of the time. I don't remember any of this with my first. I guess I'm really scared that the symptoms will get worse? Or carry on forever?!
Is there a possibility I will feel better quickly? Like can I feel this bad at 5 weeks and then it could change and I'll be ok by 6?
At points I feel like I can't do this :(

Week 7 was the worst for me, then gradually got better until I felt fine from around week 12. Which seems like an awfully long time whilst you’re doing it!

OP I can relate!!!! As my name suggests, I'm expecting baby 2! I've felt dreadful throughout. Different complaints at different stages but overall, just shit! 😭😭😭😭

Thank you. This does actually make me feel better. If I knew it would end I could do it. I mean, of course I can get through I'm just panicked by how bad I feel so early. Thank you x I hope everything is going well for you x

Oh you poor thing I'm sorry. How far along are you now? To be honest I have a lifelong phobia of being sick so it's the nausea that's the most debilitating for me at the moment xxx

The nausea ended early on for me, definitely in the first trimester, hopefully you will be the same! And the tiredness got better after the first trimester but has bit me like a tonne of bricks now again I'm near the end! Second trimester was more aches and pains!

I think most people find weeks 7-9 the toughest. Think the placenta starts to take over around week 9 which is why you can start to feel better. It's tough op I feel your pain 😬😬

hey OP I’m currently 16 weeks and things are so much better and happier. Not completely yet. First trimester for me was complete utterly strong nausea vomiting 0 energy and depressing moods from 6 weeks. From 14 weeks things have gradually started to improve
at points I felt that bad I didn’t know how I would carry on and felt SO depressed like my life was completely over lol. It was so hard honestly! But please you are not alone!!!!!!!
Be strong 🥲 lots of women feel/felt the same.
im now feeling much happier with energy. I wore make up for the first time yesterday since before I was pregnant! 🫣😅

Kt1704 · 05/09/2024 21:32

And let me add - I have started to eat so much more now since 14 weeks. My appetite is back!

Ros2023 · 06/09/2024 09:50

I could have written this myself! I am 6 weeks and I am really struggling. I feel so sick all day every day and I honestly feel like I can’t cope! Trying to work and run a house etc. I just feel constantly hungover. It really affects your mental health. I feel so fed up with it all.
like you I also panic because feeling and being sick for me is the worst. I just feel anxious all of the time! I’m wondering when it will stop. I dread every day because I know I will feel so bad xx

magicstar2020 · 06/09/2024 20:13

@Ros2023
You poor thing. It's jsut awful isn't it. Have you tried any drugs? I rang my gp today and they prescribed cyclizine. I told myself I wouldn't take it unless I really needed it and then caved about 2 hours ago and genuinely do feel better, so I'm really hoping this is a life line.

Thank you so much for coming on and bringing some hope. Really kind. Today's been a better day than yesterday. I just need to remember the really bad times don't last too long.

@magicstar2020 That’s okay. At one point I think I was 11 weeks I remember sitting on the bus to work feeling so dreadful and low thinking what have I done to myself and regretting everything. I thought I needed help for the depression lol. 16 weeks now I’m much happier and the excitement for parenthood has begun!! It feels like such a long road at the time but you will start to feel better and enjoy it Xxx

Ros2023 · 06/09/2024 22:33

@magicstar2020 i might mention it to my gp actually yeah. I’ve rang in sick to work for tomorrow morning as I start at 6.15am and I’m struggling to make it there because I feel so ill. I’m trying so hard to be positive but it’s so difficult to be excited about having a baby when you feel so bad isn’t it! Glad you feel better after taking something. Maybe it’s what I need! X
