Had an early scan today because I've had 2 previous miscarriages. All in place, but no heartbeat - have to go back for a follow up next week. Doctors didn't say whether it was good or bad. There should be something there by now shouldn't there? Would appreciate your experiences - good and bad, just want to prepare either way. Thanks

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

i've had this one go both ways at that sort of stage. sorry I'm not bringing you fantastic news all the way, but it can be early to find a heartbeat. with me they were doing loads of blood tests as your levels should double every 48hrs. Have you had anything like this?

fingers x'ed for you

No help for you hun - just sending you best wishes, positive thoughts and I hope that all turns out ok for you... Take care x

HOw were you scanned?

If it was abdominal it is quite common not to see Hb at this stage.

I think you can start to see Hb on a TV scan from about 6wk ish. I guess if you are deffo deffo 7+4 then youi would have been more likely to see Hb than not. If you are little as 4 days out on dates it could be 50/50 if you see it.

Thanks for your support. It was an internal scan and they were digging about for ages trying all different angles but didn't see a heartbeat. I'm pretty sure of my dates, and the measurements were out by at least a week. I've been scanned at this stage before and seen a heartbeat and things didn't work out, so even if it had been 100% good today I wouldn't have been reassured just yet. I'll see what they say next week. Thanks again

Hi Offthecoffee
Sorry for your two previous mcs. I have had one mmc and the next pregnancy I had early scan at 6 weeks but hearbeat could not be seen so went back around the 7 week mark. I was told then that there was no heartbeat and it appeared the foetus had stopped growing. They also took blood tests. I had a DandC after that.
I am now on my third pregnancy and 20 weeks having had 2 scans before the 12 week mark.
Wishing you all the best as the 'in limbo' situation is never nice.
Take care x
