Good evening all.

I wanted to share my story and give some hope to others (although im not in the clear yet)
Been trying to conceive for the best part of 3 years. The doctors recently told me they can't offer me anymore help and I would have to go private as I already have a daughter so it's not really a priority.
Had actually given up hope and stopped trying.

Fast forward 1 month and I end up losing my job (I had a part time job that I had as backup so not really unemployed anymore) and now, I found out I'm pregnant.

Who would believe it would happen this way 😂😂
My period was a little late but I've been irregular anyway so I thought I would test as I had been having some cramps.
Turns out positive and a few following tests all positive.
Had some slight pain and a little blood (after passing BM) so the doctors have referred me to have an early scan on Friday. I am worried but I'm hoping everything will be okay.

I actually think I conceived the day that I had my smear test. Wonder if the swab of the cervix made a difference?
Also, I've recently been found to have HPV so has anyone else had this and found out they're pregnant?

If you read this far, TYSM

Congratulations!! 🤩 it might have been all those other things happening and not trying that you finally conceived.

Congratulations! I had a smear the day before I found out I was pregnant and then panicked but the midwife said a tickle with a brush for the swab won’t make a difference at all. I tested neg for HPV though (after 12 years of testing positive for it). Can you get some further guidance from your midwife when you have a booking appointment? I’m sure they ask about your last smear etc x

Thank you all, you're all so kind ❤️

Did another test today and its definitely darker. (I wasn't going to test again but I can't help it)

I was unsure about the smear but I probably hadn't conceived at that point, I'm sure that's when I ovulated.

How long did you test positive for HVP?

I haven't had an appointment sent for my midwife yet but should be soon! My daughter is 11 now so I can't remember how it all works 🙈 x
