Kettering or Peterborough hospital for antenatal/maternity?

Name change because I know DSIL is on here a LOT and not ready to announce yet.

DH and I have recently moved to Northamptonshire, and I am 6 weeks pregnant with our baby. Peterborough Hospital is maybe 5-10 mins closer by car, but Kettering Hospital’s website seems much more clear/efficient (and I am hoping that translates to a more clear/efficient maternity ward). I had my first baby in London where care was chaotic, and never saw the same person twice, and the birth itself was shambolic. Any recent experiences of either hospital would be great please.

No recent experience of maternity but I think Kettering is pretty poor. Not sure how Peterborough compares...

I probably live somewhere close to you and have chosen Hinchingbrooke (default would be KGH) and so far I'm really happy with my decision. It's my first baby so obviously I don't have anything to compare it to from a maternity perspective. However my experiences of other parts of Kettering Hospital, including infertility services in the Rockingham wing have been pretty poor. Even car parking at Kettering is a nightmare, but so easy at Hinchingbrooke which makes it much less stressful, especially when I'm going to growth scans every 4 weeks.
Peterborough and Hinchingbrooke are the same trust so a lot of the staff work across both hospitals. People I have spoken to speak really highly of Hinchingbrooke.

I'm under Peterborough. I have had a really good experience so far with antenatal stuff (midwives and triage) and my friend recently had a really positive birth experience there.

I'm not very local, but have family near where you must be.

I'd choose Peterborough over Kettering every time for the services we know about, but no recent maternity experience.

Thanks - yes, I saw that, but assumed they would have had to make changes by now? Kettering also has an issue with RAAC so maternity stuff is split across different places. Seems fairly conclusive from everyone so that’s good to know.

@Eggbert12345 excellent to hear such positive things, thanks. Hinchingbrooke is about 35 mins from us, so definitely doable.
