When is the earliest you have seen a heartbeat?

If you are 6 weeks and there’s no heartbeat does that mean you’re out?

Thank you.

Definately doesn't mean you are out some just take an extra few days to show I think mine was confirmed at 6w2 days

My obstetrician said you can normally detect a heartbeat between 6 and 7 weeks.
I was lucky and heard one at 6+1 but I was told from the beginning that it wasn't guaranteed at this stage

TomatoSandwiches · 02/09/2024 13:43

7+2 days.

I had a scan at 6+4 due to bleeding and heartbeat was there. But bear in mind most people's pregnancies are actually a little behind or ahead what they think based on their last period. Also, heartbeat at 6 weeks doesn't guarantee the pregnancy will progress well.

I went for a scan at 6+1 (100% sure of dates as IVF pregnancy) and saw the heartbeat. I tried to prepare myself as best I could that it may have been too early.

Hatethisheadofmine · 02/09/2024 15:47

6 weeks and 3 days

ajandjjmum · 02/09/2024 15:47

6 weeks no heartbeat, 7 weeks heartbeat.

Babadook76 · 02/09/2024 15:50

I had a scan at 5 weeks and 6 days and there was no heartbeat yet (baby is now 13) so I couldn’t be massively worried

fancyfrogs · 02/09/2024 16:01

I had a scan 6+3 and saw a heartbeat

Strokethefurrywall · 02/09/2024 16:03

It totally depends on when you ovulated and when the embryo implanted.

I had scans at 5+6 with both pregnancies, DS1 was a strong fast HB, DS2s was fainter and slower and my OBGYN said the HB had probably only just that morning started beating.

A HB by 7 weeks could be expected but you may not see anything before 6 weeks
