Gonna post this on a couple to get as many responses as I possibly can. Just wanna note I've just moved back home from England so I unfortunately don't have a GP yet, I will be going to register today, I just wanted to hear what people say about my symptoms.

I am 22 years old and 9 weeks pregnant with my pregnancy going fine, i've had plenty of early reassurance scans due to an unrelated issue so I know my baby is okay. At each of these scans they also performed UTI tests which was over a span of 5 weeks, they never mentioned any UTI, I've also had them before and they are nothing like what I am experiencing now; I am pretty confident this is not a UTI due to this.

However, recently when I have been using the toilet to pee, I've been getting a dull type pain in my bladder. I've not noticed it there while my bladder is full however it is very painful now when I empty my bladder. Now the reason I never mentioned this to the ladies that done my scan is because it was much more mild then and I genuinely just assumed this was another one of them not so nice pregnancy symptoms. However I woke up this morning and it's always WHILE my bladder is being released (don't even feel it before really or never noticed it but will keep an eye out) and today it was genuinely agonising, I was basically keeled over on the toilet and it continued when I got back into bed and honestly started praying cause all I know to do. I also have an interview later so didn't wanna go downstairs for hot water bottle and wake myself too much as I haven't slept long.

It's pretty much only during the release of my bladder and sometimes lingers after but peak pain is definitely when I'm at the toilet. Also feel like it's worse when my bladder is quite full. I have been silly in holding off going to the toilet in the past and I'm not sure if this is a consequence of that but sure feels like it :(

I really hope someone can maybe direct me to possible causes. I will absolutely go to the GP ASAP also.

Pain would indicate an infection or other problem so definitely seek some medical attention asap. It's not a normal pregnancy symptom to be in agony.
Hope you get some answers soon

I was experiencing similar pain when I was 7 weeks pregnant and they did prescribe me antibiotics even though the test for an UTI was negative. 3 days after starting the course of medication the pain stopped.

You can go to a walk in centre without being registered with a GP. In addition, you could also call 111.

But as previously mentioned you need to seek medical attention.

Gook luck!

@sel2223

i think the other reason i haven't paid much attention to it is because (i forgot to mention) it's not constant, so it's really quite strange but it isn't everytime i go to the toilet. however before i was pregnant i was having some really bad stomach pain (i think it was stomach my memory is shocking) and because of where it was located they wanted to make sure it wasn't my kidneys so they asked for a urine sample and i actually remember the guy mentioned there was blood in my urine. that pain was different though as it was constant and unrelated to my actual use of the toilet, it could only be 'relieved' by walking like a hunchback. they gave me antispasmodic painkillers and this helped. i believed it was food poisoning from pork as it was the only thing that made sense at the time.

@lethisbetheone
thank you for this advice as i never even thought of going to the walk in centre i think i will do this tomorrow. i was also reading on a lot of places uti tests are often inaccurate unreliable and extremely outdated. i have had many in the past and it feels nothing like what they did previously but i suppose its still very possible that's the cause and my body just reacts differently to them. did you have a burning sensation on when you peed? i always always had that with my utis and it was excruciating but im not experiencing that at all this time.

unfortunately 111 don't cover NI no more (very silly i know) but i might call them and tell them im still in england just so they can at least advise me the best they can and based off that decide what i should do.

i think if the pain was constant and everytime i used the toilet id be much more frantic right now but i suppose that's a bad way to think as it still could cause a bigger issue and that's the last thing i want.

thank you both very much for your responses and advice i appreciate it, wish you both all the best :)
