Winter babies night time sleep bags or swaddles

Hiya

So my first born was summer baby and would be just in a swaddle at night time.

This time I'm due to have a winter baby so trying to figure out what to do for bed time.

My first one loved being swaddled and slept so much better.

Would you swaddle and put sleepbag on top??

I second the tommee tippee grobag. I had a late November baby and never mastered the art of swaddling so these were great

Had a February baby and she also started out in that gro bag, although we tended not to use the arm swaddle option as she really seemed to like her hands and sucked her thumb right from the start.

We also sometimes put a cellular blanket over her lower half, tucked in tightly which is what they did at hospital for her.

With the gro bags you want to make sure you have one little enough that a small newborn can't "creep" down inside it. I think the Tommy Tippee ones fitted our 6lb-er from birth but we tried one or two others that were too big at first and wouldn't have been safe.

I just had to use normal bags for my DS, swaddling him and wrapping his arms in anything sent him into a blind rage 🤷🏻‍♀️

Just made sure he had a long sleeved vest on underneath his long sleeved sleep suit with a bag on top.

My late Christmas baby hated being swaddled and wore a 2.5 or 3.5 tog sleeping bag with detachable arms depending on how cold it was. Here is a link for what we had (although I bought mine of vinted/ebay)
