Am I 5 or 9 weeks?

I am so confused and would like others inputs.

I found out a few days ago (29th Aug) that I’m pregnant, it was a strong positive showing with the control line straight away, I then tested on a digital which showed 3+ making me a minimum of 5 weeks.

As per my last “period” it would put me just at the 4 week mark, I’ve been pretty regular. Herein lies my confusion, I did a test on the 29th July as I thought I was a little late, the test was negative, and then I had some bleeding. I for the life of me cannot remember (it’s been one hell of a month) if it was a full period or could of been implantation.

If the digital wasn’t showing 3+ I wouldn’t even be questioning it; so my current stance is I’m either 9 weeks, or 4 weeks with possible multiples, or I’m just really really overthinking this.

Ive done my referral to antenatal and I’m awaiting to hear; it really doesn’t help that I have APS and depended on anticoagulants for my last successful pregnancy after multiple miscarriages; my son was also extremely early due to placental abruption - safe to say my anxiety is everywhere, but this dating thing is really bugging me!

thoughts welcome!

Hi OP, first of all congratulations.

There really isn't any way of knowing for sure until you get a scan I'm afraid.

I have really long, unpredictable cycles so wasn't sure on dates myself. I tested not long after missing a period and got probably the strongest and quickest positive I've ever seen. I booked an early scan when I would have been 8 weeks exactly according to LMP.
The scan showed I was only 6+1 (this means the test was taken just over 4 weeks and it's definitely not twins). I've had another scan since then and baby is growing fine at the moment and all seems good 🤞🤞🤞

I never used the digital 'weeks' test as they are notorious for being inaccurate.

Could you book an early scan? Otherwise you'll have to pick a date for your LMP to give to your midwife and your 12 week scan will be booked according to that.

I wouldn't overly worry about the digitals, as PP said, they are not known for accuracy. Can you contact the early pregnancy unit for a scan, given your need to take anticoagulants? Or get a private scan?
