Hello!

I am 12 weeks 4 days just wondering if you could see any gender through this scan.

No, it’s not possible at 12 weeks even for a professional. And it’s sex. No scan can predict your child’s gender identity

Roll your eyes all you like but it's a fair point.
The earliest you can know (as apposed to guessing) is 16 weeks.

@TripleESept24 Thank you! Honestly! Idk why people get so touchy with that. If you go to a scan they call it “gender scan” not “sex scan”

It's pathetic

Looks like a boy to me!

lockdownbabyx · 01/09/2024 09:44

@TripleESept24 that wasn't the part of the comment I was rolling my eyes at

I haven’t a clue what your baby is, but I had a scan at 11 weeks for the NIPT and the sonographer said she was fairly confident the sex was male… she was right!

Lilac90 · 01/09/2024 10:27

I think boy. I had a private scan at 14 weeks for both mine and found out the sex then, so it is possible to tell on a scan prior to 16 weeks. Nub theory is also pretty accurate after 12.5 weeks (if you know what you're looking for, but I'm not an expert!) so definitely a lot more than just guess work if seen by a professional.

I also find it tiring how not knowing the baby's gender always has to be brought up on these threads. It's a relatively new belief and doesn't mean that everyone believes they have no idea if their child is male or female or otherwise until they're much older, just incase they're trans.
