I'm visiting a friend with cats this afternoon and am allergic. Am 35 weeks pg and don't know if it's safe during pregnancy.

yes, it's safe

it acts on the membranes in the nose, and only a microscopic amount gets into the bloodstream

but....you're supposed to use it for a few days to build up the effect, so doubt if it will be effective this afternoon

I've always been prescribed this during preg for hayfever so I'd say yes it's safe.

Thanks Tissy.

I've only ever used it as and when needed and it seems to work. I thought as a one off it'd be okay. Otherwise I'll need to lie down after half an hour in her house!

Thanks WombFor1More,

The fact you've been perscribed it is reassuring.

It's available over the counter, and wouldn't be if it were unsafe for large proportion of the population

I've used this for years due to rhinitis and GP ok'd it for use during pregnancy, no problems.
