Can you get a massage at 6 weeks pregnant?

Yes,you can get massages throughout pregnancy. Just be mindful your skin may get more sensitive and tell your therapist. As you get bigger you'll need to lie a little differently than when you're not pregnant but at 6 weeks you're fine

I had a course of pregnancy massages in my first pregnancy which I got as a gift and really enjoyed.
Just make sure to tell your massage therapist.

I was advised not to have foot massages. I can’t remember what the reason was.

I was actually due a massage today at 6 weeks 3 days but I decided not to go for it after I googled and there’s a lot of mixed messages about this. The NHS quoted net mums which does not recommend massage until the second trimester due to the increased risk of miscarriage in the first trimester. Some places won’t massage you in the first trimester but it really is personal choice from what I’ve found.

Most places won't do a massage in first 12 weeks, I wouldn't risk it at 6 weeks.

I see an excellent and very experienced masseuse. She will not do massages in the first trimester because a deep massage can cause hormonal effects. (I imagine a very gentle massage which is basically just stroking wouldn’t but that’s not her thing). Most places won’t IME. Second trimester onwards fine.
