Highly confused & just wondering if anybody has had similar .. 1st ultrasound last week measured 6 weeks (based off last menstrual was suppose to be 8) low fetal heart rate , today went in for follow up they saw 2 yolk sacs 1 bigger than the other side by side & debris in the sac . Different doctor is now saying this may have been a blight ovum cause he really can’t see a fetal pole ? . I highly believe it is a mmc just kind of want answers , it it possible the first yolk sac was missed or just randomly showed up ?

I'm sorry you are going through this OP. Did they say whether that would indicate identical twins? At this stage, the size is mm's, so one machine might be slightly better than another, but its still very, very early and tiny. Do you have another scan booked in, or serial bloods to check your levels?

honesly the doctor seemed as confused as me , the yolk sac were kind of as touching that’s how close they were & I do have another one next week .

Hi OP, this sounds very stressful.
You are still so early it may not be clear yet what it is or what happened, could be disappearing twin or blighted ovum but we're talking fractions of mm at this stage.
Hopefully you will get some clearer answers at your next scan.
Good luck.

I was thinking that but the 2nd yolk sac wasn’t visible until a week later .

My daughter has this they said its vanishing twin syndrome her 2nd sac still empty and she is 23 weeks gone now they said it might go on its own or it will probably go when she gives birth x 1st baby is OK x
