Hey Ladies, I’m looking for some reassurance or to hear other ladies stories if possible. I had an emergency growth scan at 27w & 6 days because babies movement had changed. At that time he was weighing 2 pounds and 13 ounces and on the 78th centile. I’ve been for a scan today 31 weeks & 1 day and baby is weighting 3 pounds and 14 ounces and on the 48th centile. My consultant said I need to be rescanned in two weeks as there has been a reduction in his growth velocity. I’m now panicking thinking something is wrong with his growth. Does anyone have any similar stories 🙏🤍

Please don't panic, growth scans and measurements are an estimate only and the forum is full of previous stories where they've been wrong.

I had a lot of scans, was in and out throughout the third trimester for reduced/no movements, ended up on daily monitoring, got pre-eclampsia etc etc. Every single time I was told, bang on average, will be 7-8lbs.
She was born at 38 weeks just 5lbs 10oz, under the 10th centile!

She's now 4 and taller than average, normal weight etc

The further you are into pregnancy the less accurate growth scans become as it’s harder to take the measurements. I’ve had growth scans in both pregnancies, and was recently told in third trimester there is a 300g margin of error, so estimates could easily be quite different
