I have had a few episodes of brown blood/discharge. Only a very small amount.

Had my 20 week scan on tuesday and everything was fine. Mentioned it to midwife and she said nothing they can do about it anyway. Was just wanting an explanation of what it might be/mean.
As I had it again yesterday wonder if anyone out there could shed any light. Have a DD 14 months. Never experienced this in last pregnancy.

I am 16 weeks with no. 2 and had this for a couple of days last week. I also had it at about 13 weeks with DD, went into total freefall, ended up at hospital and absolutely nothing was wrong. I think it happens and if it's brown it's old stuff anyway. If your mw doesn't seem worried and you're otherwise fine and not in pain and it doesn't get heavier I would be inclined not to worry.

It could be polyps, or cervical erosion (friction basically - nothing to affect pregnancy). Do you have any abdo pain? Can you feel baby moving? Could you have a UTI? Have you had a smear, it may be something to have checked after pregnancy? If you do to the hospital they will ask all these things, do basic obs, put you on the CTG and make you wait for hours to get a doctor to 'review' you and maybedo a speculum and swab and tell you it's safe to go home. If the bleeding is significant and/or coupled with pain and if babe stops moving I'd give the hospital a ring. good luck.

Hi thankyou for your advice. I have no pain, feel fine and baby is moving
so will just see how it goes.
Thanks again]smile]
