Brown spotting and cramps

How long does browny spotting go on for? I’ve had it on and off since I found out im pregnant. Between light brown yellow and creamy discharge.
i am 5 weeks pregnant. I had phoned a midwife and they said unless it’s bright red and heavy then usually brown is not a concern but I can’t help but worry. This is my first ever pregnancy. I have been eating as healthy as I can and exercising but not anything strenuous just walks. I’m full of worry over this and can’t seem to trust what people are saying. I am also having cramps but not severe just more annoying

This is really, really common, and I had this with both of my pregnancies and everything was fine. In fact, you will probably have a lot of cramping in the weeks to come as your body prepares to grow a baby. Try your best to relax and not worry.

This is reassuring. I did speak to a pharmacist today and they did say it’s hard to say and to maybe prepare for the worst in case but it could also be nothing! I guess they maybe have to warn people but I’ve been full of worry since! I got a referral to the early pregnancy unit and should hopefully hear from someone tomorrow. How long did your spotting go on for?

Managed to get an early pregnancy appointment next week. Cramps seem to have subsided and not as much spotting. Fingers crossed! Actually feel like crap today like I have a hangover

Brown spotting is very common with implantation bleeding, and light cramping is also very normal in early pregnancy, as your uterus responds to having something there. So, while you never know what a pregnancy will bring, I wouldn't take those symptoms as being unusual in any way OP! Best of luck with it

Hiya, I had what your describing at around 6 weeks (it lasted for the whole of that week) I thought something was wrong, I even made a post on here about it, I had an ultrasound at 7 week 5 days and all was great! The stopping has stopped since and I'm now 8 week 5 days 🥰 hope all goes well for you xx

Thanks! The midwife did say it sounded like implantation bleeding. Was just worried as it’s been going on for nearly a week!

The spotting is increasing still light brown but I have been busy today and active and I’m wondering if that’s the cause also had very light cramping not like a period. I am panicking now. I didn’t have any spotting yesterday. I got booked in to the EPU next Friday so that is a reassurance but I won’t be settled until then

My cramping has been horrendous in this pregnancy. I'm nearly 11 weeks now but I honestly thought it wasn't going to end well and this will be my second child - really don't remember it being this bad with my first. I'm both pregnancies I've had a heavy bleed around 6 weeks and both times been fine. It's hard and stressful and always worrying but it does seem that bleeding early on is quite normal as well as the cramping. Brown blood is also old blood which is why they don't tend to worry about it as much. Good luck for your scan x

I’m torturing myself thinking it isn’t going to end well but there is definitely no red bleeding. It seems to be yellow/light brown either spotting or discharge and very light amounts. I’m so tired and having nausea in the mornings, sore nipples and a lot of acne on my chest. I’ve just read stories that light brown spotting turned into a miscarriage! And freaking myself out. I done a pregnancy test and it has a strong line still. Taking all my multi vitamins also. I’m worried I’m not eating enough but I’m eating small amounts as I think my appetite has gone down.

How are you getting on?

Spotting seems to have stopped thankfully. Getting the odd cramp here and there still. My early pregnancy appointment is tomorrow. Nausea has kicked in the mornings. How are you?

Had a teeny bit of spotting on Monday but nothing since. I have mild cramps most days but that seems to ease if I get up and move around.
