She got 18th December going by my last period, 14th March. If I got pregnant on day 14 this would be correct, but I don't think I did.

Firstly I did OPKS from CD10 - 18 no +s.

Secondly I started testing for pregnancy from day 27, up until day 33 they were negative, meaning that if i got pregnant day 14 I was getting negatives at 19DPO

I did BD on CD14, but then we didn't have sex again until CD 21,22

I think I ovulated late.

I first got a + ON CD34 which was 13 DPO.

whICH i THINK IS MUCH MORE LIKELY.

Im worried because if they insist Im due DEc 18th then by my due date they will already class me as a week late, Im planning a homebirth and they can be really arsey about going over due!

You'll get a 12 week scan though won't you? If the dates are that far out the scan will show that and they will alter it - also nobody can force you to have a hospital birth!

Hi - same as me.

My last af was the same as you - I am calculating my due date as 21st Dec. However, dd1 was 9 days late and dd2 was 12 days late - so dates mean diddly squat.

Dates may be amended when you have a scan - but I think they have to be a week out.

(Can't do emoticons as dd1 spilt coffee on the keyboard).

Can't get the courage to join the due in dec 08 thread - know from experience I will probably be in the Jan 09 postnatal group.

Congrats by the way!

Are they that acurate thought to be correct?

Im sure thay were a week out withmy DS, he was a slow grower at first (had 6 + 7 week scans) he made up for it later, 9lb at birth!

The EDD based on your last period doesn't really mean much once you have your 11-13 week scan. They'll adjust accordingly based on what the baby is measuring. I knew that I ovulated late in my cycle, but no one really listened when I told them, but had an early scan at 7w 3d and they pushed me back a week. I didn't freak out because i knew that any dates based on my last period really weren't accurate.

I told my doctor when I ovulated and my due date was based on this. It was confirmed by scans at 8 and 12 weeks (was only one day out!).

Some doctors and midwives cannot get their heads around the fact that ovulation does not always occur exactly 14 days after your last period!

tHEY WILL PUT IT RIGHT AT YOUR (oops) dating scan.

EmmaPP · 18/04/2008 18:56

its so weird that dr's base due dates on 40 weeks from 1st day of last period, as clearly you cant get pregnant on that day! i know the exact day i conceived as we used ovulation sticks. so i know i'm 3 weeks and 5 days...yet dr's all insist on saying im 6 weeks, as 1st day of last period was 10 march...bizarre. so my due date, acording to them, is 15 dec, so if im late, an xmas baby, poor thing, hope it's not xmas day itself! if is, will have to have a 1/2 birthday in august for it each year :-)

I was unfortunate enough to be born on Christmas Day (and in fact it is great as you get tonnes of presents (I get more than my children much to their amusement) and lots of sympathy!). My baby is due around 7 Dec and they won't let me go 18 days late so I'm not going to get a Christmas baby like me!

i would not bother about dates as your little bundle will come when ready,

they got my dates way out and i told them it was not posible as we didnt baby dance untill i said, and when dd came she was soo tiny full term, they could get it right as i was told all the pg my baby was small so mixed up dates
