Private scan at 13 scan. Heartbeat seen but couldn't hear it

Hello! I'm currently just over 13 weeks pregnant with our rainbow baby. We've had 4 losses previous to this so it's a really worrying time. I had a private scan a few days ago at 13 weeks and baby was in there kicking its legs, moving its arms. You could see the heartbeat, but when the sonographer tried to pick it up to listen she couldn't grab it, she said it was because the baby was moving around and didn't seem concerned. She did try twice but baby kept wriggling. I wasn't worried until now and I'm thinking should we have been able to hear it?

Thanks for any replies x

Don't worry. And there is nothing you can do but trust your sonographer.

They wouldn’t even try for it on our 12 week nhs scan because she said it can be hard to pick up and it just worries parents. If the sonographer said all it’s fine then it will be! Huge congrats on your lovely rainbow baby 🌈

Yes same, in my both my successful pregnancies there was a visible heartbeat at the 12 week scans but they didn't try and listen to it either time.

They didn't attempt to listen until the 20 week scan for mine!
