Teacher Mat pay

Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone could give me advice or has been in a similar situation. I'm trying to calculate what maternity pay I'd be entitled too as I've unexpectedly found out I'm pregnant with baby number 3!

I'm a teacher and have worked for the same local authority for 7 years 11 months. I am about to start at a new school (in the same LA so will keep my contionuos service). The school has given me a fixed term contract until August 2025, baby would be due at the start of May 2025.

My LA follow the burgundy book but provide enhanced occupational mat pay- 6 month full pay, 3 moths statutory and 3 month unpaid. I'm trying to work out whether I'd get 3 months occupational pay before moving onto statutory pay?

Has anyone been in this position before?

TIA

Usually enhanced mat pay is only paid on the condition that you will return to work for a set period. My school was three months and because I got a new job I had to pay back my 3 months enhanced pay.

6 months full pay is very unusual for a school to pay and with the added complication of your fixed term contract I think you’ll have to talk to HR.
