Anyone else’s midwife struggled to find the head?!

38+2 and my midwife struggles to feel the head when pressing deep. She wonders if he is either breech or just very engaged. The heartbeat seems to be located lower belly and hiccups are felt there too

Anyone else experienced this?

My midwife was convinced my baby was breech even though heartbeat was heard lower down and I felt hiccups more in my pelvis then anywhere else but she wouldn't have it, kept talking about how he would have to be turned by a doctor, the option of c section etc really stressed me out. She sent me for a scan last week which showed baby is very much head down and although he is currently back to back is definitely not breech.

Yup. Mine was convinced they knew where the head was... they didn't and they were breach

Yes, same thing for me also at 38 weeks. Midwife wasn’t sure and so I ended up having a scan which showed head was deep in my pelvis (FWIW the scan was very underwhelming as it was a 5 min yep head is where we want it to be - having not had a scan since 20 weeks I got myself all excited it was a ‘proper’ scan, it wasn’t!). I was convinced her head was up near my ribs but turned out it was her booty. You’ll probably have a scan at some point and often you get scanned when you go into triage actually in labour so they can check positioning if they’re unsure
