Vomiting in second trimester

YOB2 · 19/08/2024 18:00

Anybody in their second trimester and still sick. 😩😩 I’m still throwing up and all, though it’s subsided but I didn’t expect it to stay this long. I can’t do anything nor work, I can’t really eat still and just eating same set of things as I figure I tend to end a particular food well. Anybody with advises please?

Yeah I had this, I was probably being sick daily until like 20 weeks or so. I'm now 34 weeks and haven't been sick in weeks, if that helps!

Have you seen your GP for antiemetics?

Foxtrotbeta · 19/08/2024 18:32

Unfortunately for some of us it lasts the whole way through. I'm still sick at 34 weeks. I really hope it gets better for you, I think 16 and even 20 weeks can be milestones for when it gets better. There's quite a few threads about various medications that might help, and your GP should be able to prescribe something.

My midwife said the same about it stopping at 20 weeks. I’ve seen my gp and given meds which worked at first but stopped. Just tired

Sorry OP. I threw up every day from week 7 until week 39, when DS was evicted. I was even throwing up the morning of my c-section.

soscarlet · 20/08/2024 09:40

Another one here sick up to week 39 - felt immediately better after he was born although puked my way through labour. I wasn’t actually vomiting every single day because of the medication I was on, but if I hadn’t had it I probably would’ve been in hospital. If the drugs aren’t working for you ask for better ones.

That scares me when my gp and midwife said it go all the way through pregnancy for some. I haven’t been able to do anything, haven’t resumed work, just indoors since this pregnancy. I was given meds by gp which worked at first but stopped working.

Oh my God. Bless you. It’s just I’m not productive at all and by myself as my husband works. At times I get really tired after vomiting im not able to do anything else.

Oh my. It’s scary vomiting all d way till delivery. I’ve decided to let the vomiting be as it’s not as bad as it use to be but I hope it settles soon.

Which medication have you tried? I have been trying to get Xonvea this week (no success so far) because on other support forums I've read it seems to be the best for a lot of people.

My first pregnancy my sickness and nausea lasted till a week or so after my 20 week scan so 21/22weeks.
I'm only 8 weeks in this time and suffering so trying to prepare for a long road ahead

I was given a buccal meds by my gp since I throw up quicker with water 😩. Another episode for me, I barely drink water even with meals. Was given dioralyte too so as to be hydrated since I don’t really drink water
