Faint lines but over a week?

Good morning all that read this as I post ❤️

So I'm 100% new to this pregnancy journey and appreciate that so many of you are on the same journey, or well versed ❤️ so I wanted to come for advice.

I'm 36 and we've been trying for a while. This month my period didn't arrive (it's pretty regular at 24 days) so I've been doing tests, although they haven't been the darkest of lines.

I've also had perhaps spotting one or two days (nothing red, all brown)

But move forward a week and still if I take a test it's super faint. Should it not be darker by now? I really hate not knowing things, and I don't want to get too excited as I'm always expecting the worst.

I've never looked at a test outside of it's window, and all the super cheapy tests (the little ones off amazon) have a real faint line but nothing that feels super confirmed.

Does it make sense that I won't be happy till it's a bolder line? The uncertainty is really getting me down 💔 I've wanted to have kids for like 10/15 years but never felt like I had the time 😭 altho then I realise how high the chance of miscarriage is too 😔

Update from me, I've got slightly more bleeding but still brown with a tiny bit of pink as well, but no deep reds yet 🤞🏻 so being hopeful

Did a frer test this morning, and then thought I'd try one of my digitals too.

Did a self referral for the midwifery (as my gp told me to after informing them) so I guess I'll just wait and see how things go.

How people can try to get pregnant and not be constantly anxious or on edge is beyond me ❤️
