Almost 40 weeks with second baby and no signs of labour, very aware baby will come when ready but feeling uncomfortable and impatient. Baby has been head down but not engaged for week. I have a sweep booked in and midwife talking about induction..

In need of positivity and hearing other people's experiences of going into labour naturally rather than needing induced.

I went 9 days over and was booked for the induction but had decided I was going to go straight to the C-section and not be induced. My husband promised me steak on the night before induction was booked for and woke that morning in labour. Never got my steak 😂

Hahaha so what I'm hearing is I need to get hubby to buy me steak or plan something nice in the coming days and I should go into labour 😉🤣

That's how I see it 😂 I was in very slow labour for a week in total, kept getting super tight and would be 60 seconds long, 3-4 mins apart for about 30-45 mins then slow right down to 15 mins apart.

I was advised to get your happy hormones going, watch nice films, hold hands, go for walks, have date nights etc etc, it was over Christmas and new year - I tend to like a corny Christmas movie and was looking forward to watching all the ones I'd lined up... they were all way to corny, I watched horror films, van helsing and reliving my youth playing mgs (my favourite computer game, if you're not familiar with it)

Perfect, plans sorted for next few days, soppy movies, good food and chill time! Here's hoping bubba arrives soon!

Has your midwife asked you to express colostrum? I was asked to do this for the first time with baby number 3 (born in March). I swear that when your body is ready to go into labour that expressing can get you started - the night I went into labour I kept getting cramps when I expressed! They would stop when I stopped expressing and restart when I restarted. I did this for a bit until the cramps stopped stopping haha. Baby was in my arms 5 hrs from when I first expressed!

EDIT: I also watched a funny film while expressing!

Just book a non-refundable activity and you're guaranteed to go into labour that day 😂

I started with contractions evening of 40+5 and baby was born morning of at 40+7, whilst those days overdue felt like torture, I had a really positive birth experience with no interventions and I was very happy afterwards
