Nub theory errors?

Hi all

Im expecting baby no.3 and all sites/ blogs are saying baby no.3 is a boy.

I was just wondering if anyone has experienced this and the nub theory is wrong? I have two boys already so was really hoping for a girl! Of course if baby is healthy it’s all that matters but I have my mind set on it now that it’s another boy (I find out in just under 6 weeks on my scan).

Nub isn't 100% so always room for error. My last baby they said boy and she was my 4th girl 😂 have you got your scan pics I can have a nosy?

Any theory is just that, a theory, and never 100% accurate.
It can be a pretty good indication though if the nub is visible and scan not less than 12 weeks.

I’d say boy too but I’m no expert, I’m currently pregnant with my fifth and final child (4 sons)and I’m expecting my scan will say boy again 🤣 these theories certainly aren’t 100% though, angles and shapes can look so much different when baby moves. I had several clear nub photos from my last pregnancy and one was definitely boy and a couple got the feedback of definitely girl just because he was moving so much they got him from different angles

@Bex101990 I think I see something bit more clearly on the last picture. It looks like it might be the nub and even though it’s short it’s also pointing slightly up?! Can you see it too? Sorry at how many weeks are these taken?

I have the same problem with the nub, I just don’t know what to look at. Have pics from 12+3 and another from 13+6 and just dont know if it shows. I’ll leave mine here too if you don’t mind but I think it’s hard too see. The last one is what I highlighted what I think might be the nub? But I’m not sure if it’s not too high. I think the baby also has it’s bottom lifted up dunno really 🤷‍♀️

I was 13 + 4 when these were taken. Yeah I thought from last pic was nub but then was looking at the leg pic and thought was it that too 😂 I guess I’ll find out in 6 weeks! I do feel it will be another boy though.

@Lisanet im no expert but from what I’ve read I think yours looks more girly?

@Bex101990 so almost the same as mine -2 days. Sweet! Would you be happy for a boy or would you prefer a girl? I hope you get what you desire. Nevertheless you can also try to go to EBay, search for nub theory and in the results you’ll find supposedly experts that you can send your images to in a message and they should be able to tell you what they see if they see it. You pay around £5 to some £5.50 only if they’re able to tell. Might be worth trying.

So I’m not going to lie as I have 2 boys would love a little girl! This will also be last baby. Of course as long as baby is healthy then I’ll be happy but I do have a preference! How about you?
I joined different nub theory books on Facebook and most say boy so I do think it’s a boy. I have my 20 week scan on 24th September so will know then! X

@Bex101990 We’re in the same boat😅 I don’t know how about you but I have unfortunately more than a preference. It actually scares me I don’t even want to think about it. I also think it will be my only child. I don’t know why I always felt like I’ll have only one.

@Lisanet ah you never know! Thing is when they are here you wouldn’t change them for the world, with my two boys we didn’t find out and in a way it was better because as soon as you meet your baby their sex really doesn’t matter! I just wanted to be prepared this time.

In all honesty I would say that's a boy from the nub

@Lilac90 and where do you see the nub may I know? I was driving myself crying trying to see it.

I've circled what I think it is. Did you try the Nubologists? they're supposed to be pretty good. Or a private scan at 15/16 weeks if you're keen to find out sooner.

I definitely agree with Lilac, looks like a classic boy nub but we are all amateurs and only the scan will tell!

OP Are your boys hoping for a little brother?

I have a DS and pregnant again with his only sibling, If I could pick I would give him a brother but know when baby arrives I won't care either way

I have a 5 (nearly 6 year old boy) and 3 year old. My eldest really wants a sister but I have said I think it may be a boy as I think he will be disappointed. My scan is in just under 6 weeks so I’ll update you all! I do have a feeling boy too 😆

OP yours looks like my little girls nub picture, your babies spine is a bit curved so is making it look angled.

@stairgates sorry I don’t want to make this more confusing😅…this wasn’t my post so when you wrote to OP it looks like girls nub and that the baby’s spine is more curved did you mean the op’s because the baby’s lying quite flat. Apologise🙏

Hi Lisanet😊My post was about the bottom left picture in these pictures, very similar to my daughters, 2 strong white lines with a slightly curved spine, I will try to add mine for reference but am not very good at editing😁
