Hi. First time posting, went for my 12 week scan yesterday and everything was fine until it came to the brain, he said baby was in an awkward position so left the room with an image to show the consultant. He returned and said all was ok and i could go but now im really overthinking that something could be wrong with babies brain. Has anyone else had this or am i just really overthinking. Thank you

It's hard not to overthink things like this - but if it wasn't okay, they would have said. This is their job, and they wouldn't just say it was okay to spare your feelings

The brain is still developing at he moment, so I think your result is normal (looks good too, but i am not a doctor).

Thank you for your replies, just had a call from hospital saying need to start taking aspirin every day. Got a feeling in for a long anxious pregnancy 😔

Congratulations on your pregnancy OP. I thought I'd mention that I was also told to take aspirin every day. In my case it was because I was 40 and it was a precaution against blood clots. Pregnancy can be such a worrying time and I too over thought everything. I hope you do get some time during your pregnancy where you can enjoy it without being dogged with the worries

I definitely think the doctor would have mentioned any issues picked up with your baby's brain.
My first born was moving that much at the 20 week scan they couldn't see the brain properly or examine the heart so I had to go back a week later. I was so worried that week but all was fine (she's now 4)

I'm 41 now and was told to take aspirin from the very beginning of this pregnancy

Thank you, he did comment on how active the baby was being so hopefully was that. They picked something up in my blood test and said needed aspirin. Hopefully the rest of the pregnancy is smooth, 14 weeks today and still a secret from everyone lol

Was that low Papp A? I've been told the same thing

Katie1611 · 16/08/2024 15:20

@apple67cherry they didn't mention Papp a they just said was a higher chance of pre eclampsia. Not too sure why she wasn't very informative on the phone lol
