Hi ladies would you think this is a lot of sick time
off I’ve taken? I’m just over thinking and feel like a burden at work as I’m one of the managers running the store.
I’m 12 weeks today but still vomiting and nausea. I’m on anti sickness but sometimes doesn’t work well
I work full time. ive called sick 3 different times in July. (1 full day each week) and then today. I’ve always made sure it is on a day where I don’t need someone to cover me.

I also had a full week off in January to recover from a miscarriage. And a full week off in Feb to remove a tumor from my ovary. I feel like it is a lot of sickness this year 🤯

i feel useless at work at the moment and over thinking that they are watching my sickness 😞😞

It is quite a lot of sickness, but pregnancy related illness should be considered differently. Just tell them you're pregnant and hopefully they will understand. Hope you feel better soon.

Do they know you are pregnant OP? That is a lot of sickness in a short space of time but it being pregnancy related makes a big difference.

I was with you till you wrote this, you can’t plan when you need to be off sick, so this makes it look like a choice?

I'm pregnant and one of the women I line manage is also pregnant. I've taken two days off in total. She's had about three weeks off. Am I mad about it? No. When she's off I just hope she's getting some rest and her and baby are well. Pregnancy is hard and every pregnancy is different. Do tell work you're pregnant though as it will go down as pregnancy related under HR.

@Frasers Well I’m sick everyday. The days where I know I need to close the store I try my hardest to be there, meaning vomiting at work etc, I wouldn’t want someone to come on their day off to cover me. Yes days where I can see I won’t need cover makes it easier for me to call out and rest at home as vomiting at work and feeling sick all day during a 9 hour shift is really exhausting me.. Tuesday I was vomiting all day at work but managed to stay the whole shift. I do 5 days 9 hour shifts

@Mrsttcno1 @SErunner @Sara1988 thank you ladies, work do know i’m pregnant. I told them very early from week 7 as the sickness started so much. At 8 weeks we found out it is twins!

I was signed off all of my first trimester from about 5 weeks both pregnancies, the second I was on half days for most of my second trimester too. If you're sick there's not much you can do although if you haven't already you could speak to the GP about trying anti sickness tablets.

Congratulations!

If work know you are pregnant then you should phone in sick each time you don't feel well enough to work.
