Have I hurt my baby by stretching? 10 weeks 3 days

This morning I was laid in the fetal position and had just opened my eyes and without thinking about what I was doing done a massive stretch.
I stretched my abdomen hard, my legs and my back.
It made my stomach feel really tight and I have had on/off cramps all day.
I am absolutely petrified that I have damaged my baby and need someone to calm me down💔 what are the chances that this could cause a miscarriage?
This is my 4th pregnancy after 3 previous miscarriages and the furtherest I have ever got.
Thank you

Absolutely zero chance.

you have not induced a miscarriage by stretching.

Thank you for replying so quickly!
It's hard to describe how I stretched but all I know is it hurt my stomach. I have been past my self all day worrying so thank you x

There is absolutely no way stretching has caused you to damage or harm your baby, it's about the size of an apricot and safe within your pelvis. Even if you were further along in the second or third trimester, simply stretching isn't going to do any harm to your baby.
The reason you may have stomach tightening/cramps is because your muscles are stretching and your body is changing so much. I'm sorry for your previous losses but have confidence in the fact you are almost at your 12 week scan and can have some reassurance that all is well.

No, but absolutely understand having concerns. Happy pregnancy Smile

literally zero chance. Your muscles are just stretching - they’ll ache a whole lot more! Congrats 🙌🏼

Being pregnant after miscarriages is so frightening and it's common to worry about everything.

You won't have done any harm by stretching.

GreenFlamingo11 · 10/08/2024 19:40

As my midwife told me, normal bodily movements cannot cause a miscarriage. Please don't worry about this any more.

UpUpUpU · 10/08/2024 19:42

You will be absolutely fine. It will not have caused any issues with your pregnancy

All the advice about not physically overdoing things in pregnancy is because you're more likely to sustain an injury, not because you might harm your baby. All your ligaments are loosening and stretching and you may have just pulled something, baby is perfectly well protected in there.

You can’t cause a miscarriage. I’ve been doing yoga and Pilates all through my pregnancy, it’s totally fine.

You have definitely not hurt your baby.

Your ligaments and muscles are starting to loosen a bit and it can cause really painful and uncomfortable feelings of cramping when you stretch them, but it’s normal and not harmful.

Your baby is tiny and very well cushioned inside you. Please don’t worry about this ♥️
