Folic acid and Vitamin D supplements & sickness

I'm 8 weeks pregnant and have been taking folic acid and vitamin D supplements for past 4 weeks. However, I had one today and was sick about an hour ish afterwards (nothing to do with the supplement) but was just wondering if I would need to take another tablet as my body hasn't fully absorbed the tablet I'm guessing.

I now take them just as I’m about to go bed. So I know they are getting in me as I vomit most of the day!

You are fine to miss a day.

With both supplements you could take another but there is no point if you feel nauseous as they are likely to make you throw up.

Folic acid is water soluble and you would pee the excess out. While vitamin D is fat soluble, meaning you store the excess, unless your level is near the top of the optimal range which is unlikely if you taking a specific supplement for vitamin D then there is no danger in taking another.

Just be careful as you aren't taking a pre-pregnancy multi-vitamin that you are getting enough iron especially in the second and third trimesters. I ended up having to take iron tablets as well and they muck up your bowels.
