Hi all

I currently have a 8mo and have just done a pregnancy test, it came back as a faint positive.

I've not even told my partner yet as I am worrying. We always wanted a small age gap but now it's possibly happening I'm freaking out. I only got my period back last month!

My 8mo is a double rainbow baby and I can't help but feel guilty towards her.

It would mean I have 2 under 18 months.

Has anybody else had a small age gap like this?

I also had a c section so worried about my health getting pregnant so soon?

Any comments welcome please xxx

I have bang on 18 months between mine and it's lovely. Very chaotic but they are at the same level so easy to find things to do. I chose to do it this way and it worked well as i could just snooze when i was pregnant and tired (during dc1 nap time) and i wasnt trying to do the school run with a newborn on 3 hrs of sleep. I cant imagine having a newborn now with school age kids and getting everyone out of the door.

I cant advise on the c section aspect but assume they would advise a planned section.

My closest 2 dc are 13 months apart.. Also have a 15 month gap between 2....
Ime the best advice is concentrate on getting dc1 into a fab bedtime routine. Alternate nights with dh so when the baby comes dc1 will sleep for either of you! And 1 to 1 time for dc1 with each of you guaranteed! At 18 months your dc will be able to 'help' and pass a nappy!! Let them be involved. Ime don't let them help with bathtime if the baby bath has a plug and you are in the lounge....

It’s hard, tiring and expensive with 2 nursery fees etc, but at least you get the whole baby and toddler stage out the way quicker and can enjoy your family sooner.
You will get through, it will be fine!

I would be more concerned with your own health than the realities of such a small age gap between siblings.
I would want to talk to a midwife or GP about checking if you've healed internally enough to support a pregnancy to term and get on pregnancy vitamins ASAP.
Good luck.

My mum had me and my sister 15 months apart. She found GCSE and A level years harder, as it was four consecutive years of big exams! My sister and I get on great though.

I had 15 months between my first two...hard work but routines are your friend! (I ended up with 4 under 7 for a bit, so it can't have been too bad 😁)

Congratulations...?!

13 months between my 2. Nursery fees are brutal but having 2 so close together is fine. They are so close, they play really well together, and hopefully that won't change as they grow up (they are 3 and 2 now). Can't remember the last time the house was quiet though.
