What was your spotting like in early pregnancy?

I know they say "spotting is normal" but I don't think it's actually considered normal, just common! Which has me worried as I have experienced some spotting over the course of 3 days. It was a light brown/tan colour discharge, much like ovulation discharge but not clear. I had a scan and everything looked good, it was an early scan so only gestational sack & yolk were found & possibly start of baby (only 5 weeks 4 days)

I'm interested to know if you did have spotting, what was it like and did you find a reason for it?

I'm on my 3rd day without any spotting now, I haven't had any pain or cramps at all. I'm hoping the spotting stays away and fingers crossed I see baby next week on the scan!

I had spotting on and off until around 34 weeks. Fresh red, brown, pink. They never found a cause for it expect saying sometimes your cervix is sensitive during pregnancy. Currently have a very healthy 3 year old next to me.

I’m pregnant again and the spotting is exactly the same as my first. Basically I just bleed during pregnancy for some reason. It’s definitely not normal but it’s common.

I had two pregnancies with no spotting, and with my last i thought I was losing it because I had a week of nearly proper period, but I didn't and everything went well and healthy baby resulted. Never found reason.

@larcarter I am 7 weeks today and I had a scan all was fine !
I had bright red blood at 5+4 that lasted for few minutes , and again at 6+1 and 6+4 , brightest red , very fresh , brand new blood , very scary to see it , maybe one tea spoon full each time ? Was so worried but scan showed healthy baby and no reason for bleeding . Xx

@Ilovebees

So glad your scan showed everything to be ok!

My bleeding/spotting continued till around 9 weeks, everytime I went for a scan I was told there was no reason for the spotting, eventually at 8 weeks they found a hematoma! Baby was fine at every scan & hematoma was gone by 12 weeks.

Currently 20 weeks and I've had big bleeds, much like a period, last one being a week ago! But again baby is doing great but this pregnancy has been a whirlwind of worry. Never ever expected to be spotting/bleeding in pregnancy, turns out it's a lot more common than i first thought🤷‍♀️

Wishing you a happy healthy pregnancy!!🤍
