32 weeks, mucus plug? Please help

I'm 32 weeks with a baby who has severe growth restriction. I've had cramping and bleeding. Being seen regularly by fetal medicine.

In the toilet today a long, thick, white, string-like thing was in the toilet bowl. Never had anything like it before. Called triage who were really dismissive and said it's probably discharge. They said if I get cramping it bleeding to come in, despite me saying multiple times I've had cramping and bleeding for a couple weeks anyway.

Has anyone had discharge like this? A quick Google shows a few pics that look like mine with people querying mucus plug, or part of it. Not sure what to do.

If you are concerned, call back and say you are cramping and bleeding and you would like to be examined and have a CTG. That is perfectly reasonable.

It could also be nothing to worry about, I lost my plug at 32 weeks with my first and baby stayed put until 40+5... the plug just regenerated. Given your circumstances though, it really would be a good idea to get checked out.
