I only knew mine had straps when I came to sell it 😂 and my little girl survived this lack of knowledge just fine. Just had it against my mattress when she was tiny I had a blanket over the surface as was worried tiny fingers might get trapped. Don't think you need to stress!

Thank you I’ve a first time mum and obviously heard things like baby falling down the side and I have anxiety as it is and it just makes it worse this one doesn’t come with straps so I’m assuming it’s okay otherwise they wouldn’t sell it I hope 😂 I’m just so confused so much stuff I don’t know 😂😩

I had a next to you with my second. Also bought second hand and I didn’t even know it was meant to come with straps until I came to sell it! Daughters 3.5 now! Your LO will be just fine 😀

If you are planning to sleep with the side down the straps are meant to keep it tight to the bed, preventing a possible gap forming I believe? I could be wrong.... We used ours without the straps as didn't have the side down, just used it like a crib

I also bought a second hand next to me, and it did come with straps, but I never got round to fastening the crib to the bed and my son slept in it for 6 months and we never had any problems with it shifting away from the bed or having a gap open up. Due DC2 in 6 weeks and will not be figuring out how to use the straps!

The straps are just to tie it to the bed so that it doesn't move and create a gap that baby could get stuck in between the next to me mattress and the bed.

If you're planning to sleep with the side up then you don't need the straps.
