I stupidly went to the fair today and didn’t eat or drink enough. I feel absolutely dreadful now - pounding headache and keep being sick. It was about 25 degrees and I tried to be in the shade as much as poss. Worried headache is turning into a migraine which I only get before my period.

Have I completely stuffed this up? I’m six weeks pregnant (or was!)

I don’t have a medically qualified answer, but I just wanted you to get some reassurance. It could easily just be heat stroke, and your first reminder that pregnancy is a thing that may cause your next few months to involve you behaving differently. It’s worth calling NHS direct, just to check in and talk with a nurse.

Read all sorts of horror stories about pregnancy and heatstoke 😭😭😭 although my temperature was fine and (TMI) I wasn’t sweaty and had pale wee. I drank about 500ml while we were out and about 2 litres over the course of the day (including rehydration solution) .

I have a circulation problems so it typically takes a lot for me to feel hot (we’re talking above 40deg ) - but I suppose pregnancy could change that ? I was super cautious during the day itself - mostly just sitting in the shade other than about thirty minutes or so. The food bit definitely was unplanned - It didn’t even occur to me there wouldn’t be any veggie options?!? Now I feel like I’ve stuffed it up and I shouldn’t even have left the house!

im watching the clock so I can call my midwife !

Sounds like heatstroke, just drink a lot and rest. You can't end a pregnancy by getting over heated - or doing anything. Suggesting that's possible is not helpful and is upsetting to someone like me who's had a miscarriage.

I don’t think you will if don’t any harm people live in hot places day in day out you probably just got a head ack from being in sun all day

I’m so sorry for your loss- of course miscarriages are chromosomal and no one is to blame.

However, I did read a few things that suggested repeat exposure would lead to some birth defects which understandably I was concerned about (IVF pregnancy so very anxious! )

I lived in south east Asia for a considerable portion of my life with temperatures sometimes in the 40s and never experienced heat stroke so it was a bit of shock! Think I can count on my hands the number of times I even felt hot and it was only around 40+ degrees- think I’m a bit broken 😂
