Hi all,

I'm a teacher in Scotland due to start with a new local authority in August. I have been a teacher for 11 years but have never worked for this new local authority before. I will be working for around 12 weeks before my baby arrives. Am I entitled to mat pay? The contract for the form states continuous service, but then at the bottom it says that continuous service needs to be with that local authority. Is that right? I know sick pay entitlement transfers over, as do pensions, so why not mat pay? Please help!

If it’s the same as England, no, you would only be entitled to Maternity Allowance.
